Llanidloes Junior Festival, September 2008

The annual Llanidloes Rugby Club 10-a-side Junior Festival will take place in September. The dates and age groups will be as follows:

 Sunday, 14th September           age groups will be U17, U15, U13 & U11

Sunday, 21st September            age groups will be U16, U14, U12 and U10

 The event will be open to all eligible players in the above age ranges for next season (as from 1st September 2008).  Both tournaments are scheduled to commence at 11.00am and finish at approximately 5.00pm.  In order to avoid any delays, we request that clubs aim to arrive no later than 10.30am to register their teams.

ENTRY FORMS available from Mike Griffiths, Lower Tynfron, Deildre, Llanidloes SY18 6NZ. Entries will need to be in by 30TH JUNE 2008, together with payment.

TRAINING

All players are to be registered with the WRU and Junior Membership is £10 per year

Training for those under 16 is every Tuesday from 6pm.

Youth's training is Tuesday and Thursday from 7pm

The Junior membership fee is £10 per year*

The £1 fee per home game will not be applied this season.

ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR JUNIOR PLAYERS

Training Training takes place every Tuesday night from 6pm – 7pm from September to April. Please ensure your child attends training in appropriate kit taking into account weather conditions and your child is collected promptly at 7pm following the training.

Matches Matches are normally played on  Sunday mornings with an 11 O’clock kick off. Occasionally matches are played at night under the floodlights. For away games a coach departs the Gro car park in town, normally around 9.30am although it depends on the location of the match. On average two matches a month are played between October and March. In addition an annual junior rugby festival is held in Llanidloes every September. Please make every effort to attend matches - your support is much appreciated!

Cost There is a £10 registration fee per season. No other costs will be incurred. Free transport is provided to away games.

Kit For matches shirts are provided but shorts, socks and boots are needed (preferably black shorts / yellow socks). Please ensure that boots are in good condition and studs are not worn, sharp or have jagged edges. socks and shorts can be obtained from Llani Leisure in Short Bridge Street.

Coaches All coaches have completed the WRU Coaching Award at Preliminary, Level 1 or Level 2 standard and have been vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau.

 

Referees Only referees who have completed the WRU Level 1 refereeing qualification are used to officiatein  matches.

 

First Aid A qualified St Johns Ambulance certified first aider will be present at all training sessions.

 

Player Registration It is a requirement of the WRU that all junior players are registered.  This is not only a requirement to play for the club but also secures insurance cover. If you haven’t yet completed and signed a registration form please obtain one from your coach. 

 

Website Photographs A team photograph is taken of each squad and posted on the website. In addition ‘action shots’ are taken during games and again these are put on the website together with match reports. If you have any objection to your child’s photograph appearing on the website please do not hesitate to contact your coach or our Child Protection Officer
