MATCH REPORTS
May 4th 2008
Builth U-12 14
Llanidloes U-12 19
This season's Under 12
squad seemed to save their best performance to the last game of the
season. Because of late drop outs due to injury, the match was played as
13 a side. The whole of the Llanidloes side played the full 50 minutes
without change. Last minute changes resulted in captain Joe Mills making
his debut at outside half and James Lewis our new prop come full back.
An immense performance was put in by the six forwards with Ewan Rees
(man of the match) and Andrew Williams making big inroads into the
Builth defence. Second row Lewis Swallow came close to bull dozing over
from a tap penalty. The scoring was carried out by Joe Mills three tries
and James Lewis two conversions. A certain try saving tackle was made by
James Lewis late in the game which also proved a match saving tackle. In
very difficult circumstances as the Builth discipline seemed to waver,
full credit goes to all the Llanidloes players who got on with the game
and came out with the result at the end. This was fitting reward for the
long hard season and the hard work the lads have put in.
Squad: Ewan Rees, Alex
Chapman, Jake Evans, Harry Jerman, Lewis Swallow, Andrew Williams,
Geraint Davies, Joe Mills (cpt), Shane Casey, Chris Pugh, Dave Richards,

Llanidloes travelled to Builth with
only 10 players and returned with an impressive result playing some
excellent attacking and determined defensive rugby.
Llanidloes dominated the early exchanges
and controlled the contact area, Llanidloes soon found space and their backs
passed the ball well for Callum Breeze to score a well deserved try. The
second try was scored by Sam Jones who picked up a loose ball and then
mesmerized the Builth defence to score
Builth regrouped and drove over from
close range to score. Llanidloes then competed at a lineout near the Builth
tryline and scored again through Sam Jones who charged down a clearance kick
to score.
The whole Llanidloes team played well and
deserve special credit for the determined tackling all through the game,
Kristian Frantz-Morgan and Andrew Evans made some excellent tackles. The
final and best try of the game was scored after good work by Dewi Jones who
charged up field ,the forwards produced good ruck ball and the ball was then
passed along the line to Sam Jones who weaved his way passed two
defenders to score. Builth soon returned to attack the Llanidloes line and
scored through a forward drive.
The last five minutes witnessed constant
pressure on the Llanidloes line but determined defence kept Builth at bay.
